Thanks winkler1, i dumped only cause I needed room to sift something else, and then i took the plunge and became a charter member, so now I can sift 6! sweet.
I don't agree with McCain on a lot of things, but I think he's a good guy and that he'd do a good job. He's one of the 3 potential candidates that has my attention so far, the others being Obama and Paul.
I think this video is taken out of context. The kid who asked the question did so in a somewhat light-hearted fashion, which prompted McCain to respond in kind. He wasn't being hateful or nasty.
I took it as him teasing. I respect McCain a lot less now than I did a couple of years ago but he is sane and has a sense of humor which still leaves him two advantages over many of his counterparts these days.
I really liked McCain for a while there because of his sense of humor. Some of the stuff he did with comedy Central was hilarious. Then I found out that he has one of the most consevative voting records... EVER! From what I can tell, he does the complete opposite from what he says. But, I do respect his opinion on torture and he does seem firm on that. Plus, how do you vote against a guy who spent time in a Vietnamese prison camp?
... yeah, his NO vote on the 'Student Loan Lender Subsidy Cuts and Student Grants' bill a few months back was a kick in the stomach, but most Republcan's didn't vote for it, as it was a 'liberal' bill...
Other than anti-democrate votes like that one, he votes pretty much like my how my grandparents would.
John Kerry would never say such a mean and vicious thing like this. Neither would Hillary, since she's such a nice and kind person, like all Democrats.
Yeah, I'd relax - McCain was joking around, and the question was a pretty snot-nosed one, as these things go.
McCain's fatal flaw turned out to be the same as John Kerry's -- they both hired a ton of campaign consultants who polled and focus-grouped the good sense out of both of them.
^ This is from a loooooong time ago. This got a pretty good out-of-context treatment in the press, but it wasn't a big deal because at the time everyone thought McCain didn't have a prayer of winning the primary.
but its amazing to see in 9 months how much his attitude and thinking have changed - compare this to the "Thats not change we can believe in ... eah-uh-hu-hu-urh" speech...

John McCain has a pretty sharp wit about him. Also he hides it pretty well but he has a stuttering problem.
